Safe routes for refugees

You may wish to adapt this text passed at the AGM of the rail union RMT

Calling on the Labour government and Labour politicians to:
1. Stop reflecting racist rhetoric about migrants;
2. Provide safe routes for refugees;
3. Place rebuilding community cohesion at the heart of its economic strategy, targeting public investment at struggling local economies, creating decent jobs and supporting trade union organising.

Defend and restore the right to protest

Text which you may find useful to adapt as a motion to your CLP

The government’s attempt to ban, and treat as terrorists, Palestine Action, is wrong, anti-democratic and counter-productive.

Doubling-down, as in the Home Secretary’s announcement of further restrictions on the right to protest, is doubly so.

We call on the Labour government to stop kow-towing to Trump, Reform UK, and the right wing media. Instead of restricting protest, it should reverse the Police Act 2022 and the Public Order Act 2023, which Labour opposed when the Tories put them through Parliament.

Tasks after the Gaza vote at Labour conference, 29/9/25

Labour Party conference voting for Motion 2, and rejecting Motion 1, on Israel-Palestine, on 29/9/25, is a net positive. Motion 1 was largely an exercise in the government and party leadership patting itself on the back. The party leadership has shifted — under pressure — but not far, or fast, enough.
