Labour NEC nominations

Elections for the Labour Party’s National Executive are held every other year, and there are elections in 2026. The Campaign for Labour Party Democracy writes:

Candidates… need at least five CLP nominations to be included in this summer’s national ballot of Party members. CLPs have to submit their NEC nominations to the Party by 12 noon, Friday 26 June. There are nine CLP seats on the NEC and CLPs can make up to nine nominations. At least four of the nine members elected to the CLP NEC seats must be women.

In this NEC election, CLPD recommends that Party members support the candidates backed by the Centre-Left Grassroots Alliance (CLGA). These candidates are (membership number in brackets):

Gemma Bolton (L1405940)
Yasmine Dar (L1173052)
Minesh Parekh (L1230833)

Mainstream (the new network launched by Compass, Open Labour, and other “soft left” groups) is recommending three candidates, as below. As we understand it, there is a tacit agreement between CLGA and Mainstream that they are happy with CLPs backing both the CLGA three and the mainstream three.
